Bernd Leno says he was convinced Arsenal were the perfect club for him after speaking to new manager Unai Emery.
The German shot-stopper, who narrowly missed out on a place in Joachim Low’s World Cup squad, completed a £20million move from Bayer Leverkusen to Arsenal on Tuesday.
Asked if he had spoken to Emery, Leno told the club’s official website: ‘Yes. Of course Arsene Wenger was always the coach of Arsenal but now it’s a new chapter for Arsenal.
‘I spoke to him and he said to me that he thinks that I’m a good goalkeeper and he wanted me to come to Arsenal.
