Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has hailed the appointment of Unai Emery as Arsenal’s new head coach.
The 46-year-old Spaniard was confirmed as Arsene Wenger’s successor on Wednesday, following the long-serving Frenchman’s decision to stand down at the end of last season.
Aubameyang, who scored 10 Premier League goals in 13 appearances following his club-record move from Borussia Dortmund in January, is one of the players Emery reportedly intends on building his side around and the Gabon international is looking forward to working with the former PSG boss.
‘It’s a very good coach, it’s never easy in Paris, there’s a lot of pressure,’ the striker told RMC Sport.
‘I know he did a great job in Seville and Paris, too.
‘Of course it’s weird that the coach goes after 22 years.
‘It’s life, we have to move forward, we’ll have to get everyone thinking to work hard to compete with the best.’
