HECTOR BELLERIN could be heading to the World Cup following Dani Carvajal's injury during the Champions League final.
The Los Blancos ace lasted just 35 minutes against Liverpool in Kiev, as he was reduced to tears as he left the pitch.
It is understood the 26-year-old suffered an injury in the warm-up, but battled on to start the match.
It means that Bellerin could be seen as the perfect replacement, but faces competition from other top names.
Barcelona's Sergi Roberto and Atletico Madrid's Juanfran were also omitted from Lopetegui's 23-man squad earlier this week.
Despite making his Spanish debut in 2016, Bellerin has been restricted to just three caps.
Coincidentally, he replaced Carvajal in the Spain squad in Euro 2016 after the Madrid star again pulled out through injury.
